Time Markers cont’d
A Time Marker can mean many things. In the context of change Time Markers indicate evolution or devolution.
I initially started this Time Marker subject last year, July 2025; however I posted the “Time Markers” subject in this year 2026. This discussion has a few parts. In this discussion we will move from the personal element of time marking to the outer significance of markers. There is a dynamic to change whether one is cognizant of it. Change is constantly in occurring through time. There are varying levels of change.
For now let us just consider two obvious and main areas of change. There is individual change and there is a collective (societal) change. On the inner and individual experience there are varying levels and/or stages. Change is unique to each individual. Sometimes change is not possible for some individuals because certain behaviours and habits have become unconscious patterns which cannot easily be broken. This is where time marker situations spirals the individual into having to change to cope.
External change on the collective level is very different. Social forces affect both individual and collective experiences. Waves in terms of group movements, cult mentality, etc. from various sources of influence can shape external reality. I am not referring to any specific events per se. Both historical and current events do ultimately shape perceptions but the unforeseen is never in anyone’s control.
Individual perception of time is the most important and has greater significance than societal views. Societal and collective views are not set in stone and are temporary and often false due to group and group culture conditioning. There is constant socio-political manipulation of events, facts and views. Perceptions are shaped outside of most peoples’ understanding, and who are unaware of the processes. The reality of all things generally exists with the individual. Societal conditions do affect people but generally individuals strive to balance both societal and individual life.
What one carries mentally and emotionally is what we project and often times an individual’s projection clashes with the collective perspective. The truth is that we are all engaged in shaping our futures within the individual perspective or the collective framework. Each individual is part of the collective and each person plays a part on this stage called life.
